Huawei Ascend Mate 7 users are reporting that the official Android 5.1.1 updates are being rolled out all over the world. Check your device’s notification screen starting today and confirm the installation of any new Lollipop firmware files.
The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for Huawei Ascend Mate 7 is released in stages, which means that not all users are going to receive the firmware at the same time. Keep in mind that the EMUI will also be updated to version 3.1.
There is no official changelog available for this release, but we can guess that it comes with Material Design, 100% support for Android ART, a smoother interface, faster performance and security patches to keep away any attackers from stealing data from your device. If you stumble upon any changelog of this update, then feel free to list it in comments.
Android 5.1.1 firmware update has arrived for two Ascend Mate 7 models, the MT7 – L09 and the MT – TL10. You can wait for the update to arrive over the air or you can download it from Huawei’s servers here.
Note that you should use an Wi-Fi connection in order to download the new Android 5.1.1 firmware files, so that you will avoid going over your mobile data plan. The download size of the update measures 1.2 GB.
If you don’t want to flash the new update manually, then you can always go to Settings> About Device> System Updates and hit the ‘Check for Updates’ button. If there is any new file ready for download, then you should simply confirm the process and your Huawei Ascend Mate 7 device will take care of the rest.
Tell us in comments if you own one of the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 models and if you’ve received the official Android 5.1.1 update. Feel free to list you location, so that other Huawei users in your area will know when to expect the new official update to arrive.
